Founded by Ryan, Handy Lights brings over 15 years of hands-on experience in contracting and lighting design. Our Story
Handy Lights started with a clear purpose: to make professional lighting more personal, reliable, and locally rooted.
After years working in the trades, Ryan saw a gap in the market. Property owners wanted high-quality, custom lighting—both inside and out—but were often forced to choose between impersonal national companies or limited, one-size-fits-all solutions.
So he built Handy Lights to be different.

Ryan brings over 15 years of hands-on contracting and lighting experience to every project. His background in both general contracting and lighting installation gives him a unique advantage—combining technical expertise with a strong design sensibility.
Based in Blue Grass, Iowa, Ryan works with homeowners and businesses across Bettendorf, Le Claire, Eldridge, Riverdale, Princeton, and Pleasant Valley, creating custom indoor and outdoor lighting solutions tailored to each property.
When he’s not on-site designing or installing, you’ll find him enjoying the outdoors with his wife and three kids, or tackling DIY projects, often testing new lighting ideas along the way.
